The Catalan culture
So This past Sunday (domingo) was a festival. I forget it's name and after looking for it on the internet for hours and still couldn’t find it, I gotta say this: It must be a very small “holiday”/”festival” celebrated only in Catalonia. I couldn’t understand the Spanish/ Catalan pages so I figured it must not be well know only to people from Catalonia. So does anyone know what leeks are?! Many American don’t know, so I have to ask. Well there is a vegetable that is very similar but is a bit different in taste. That plant is roasted over an open fire until the outside is nice and black. Then you peel the outer layers off and eat the insight. Dip it in some sauce, yumm yumm. So my Family had people over at their casa, and had a nice little get together. We even sat outside which was very nice. Of course that was just the "first" course and many other things were also eaten. I don't want to be wrong on this (and I must say I always barely understand what my spanish Host dad says to me) but I think this was a holiday to celebrate Catalans "independance". Well if I happen to find out better details I will sure post them. But with as little Spanish as I know you just can't get far. I language course is needed badly. more to that later!
